Kepler Cottage is just five minutes by car from the centre of Te Anau and because the town is so handy we don’t offer an evening meal but we are happy to recommend any one of a number of suitable restaurants.
The nearby Te Anau township is an interesting village well worth a visit with a wide selection of retail and quality souvenir shops to choose from, as well as a wide range of excellent restaurants. For more, visit
Te Anau is the nearest town to Fiordland, and just two hours drive from Queenstown, three hours drive time from Dunedin and eight hours drive time from Christchurch. It is a comfortable base for travellers visiting the region with Milford Sound just 2 to 3 hours drive away. The departure point for Doubtful Sound at Lake Manapouri is a mere 30 minutes drive.

Independent transport (self-drive) is recommended. Taxis are available in Te Anau for those without own transport.
